ABOUT US
The NE Group of Companies, from such humble beginnings, has become a veritable giant in the retailing field in Central Luzon. The Group, however, does not intend to rest on its laurels. With Aling Letty at the helm and with her children’s wholehearted support, the Group remains confident that NE would soon become a household name in the Philippine retail industry. www.negroup.com.ph OUR SHARED VISION To be the catalyst and major player in economic social development in Central Luzon in the new millennium. OUR SHARED MISSION To be a learning organization with highly-motivated and self-driven people providing quality products and services from the heat to our loyal customers at very competitive prices with a very strong social conscience. OUR HUMBLE BEGINNINGS NE credits its very existence to three things: five hundred pesos, two thousand meat pies, and an indefatigable woman. The first, earned by dint of hard work and perseverance, was used to finance a business venture that eventually made it the cornerstone of the Cabanatuan economy; the second, produced through zeal and sheer tenacity, signaled its transition into a household name not only in Cabanatuan, but also in Region III and neighboring provinces, while the third, put together five hundred pesos and two thousand meat pies to come up with a retailing outfit that is a force to reckon with in Central Luzon. Letty Uy (Aling Letty), the woman who started it all, is born to Cabanatuan-based Chinese merchants who tried their luck in Manila, failed and went back to Cabanatuan. The second child in a brood of six, she helped support her family by selling candies and other such goods. Making use of five hundred pesos earned through her stint as “modista” to neighbors and friends, and in a small, rundown bodega with an oven, she baked bread which she then sold to small Chinese stores in the city. With the volume of orders steadily increasing, Aling Letty acquired a larger space in which to put up a bakeshop. Aside from bread, she also baked other foodstuffs like, her specialties, pilipit, ensaymada, and meat pies that Aling Letty for recognition, she approved the order. With just one helper and in the space of the night, she filled the order. More orders then started pouring in. This marks the birth of NE Main, the first NE bakeshop.Aling Letty eventually put in tables and chairs for customers who preferred to eat in the vicinity of her bakeshop. She also expanded her product lines to include fast-food items such as hamburgers, spaghetti, sotanghon, french fries, and softdrinks. As Aling Letty's dream continues, she has now opened her very first US branch in Torrance, California. With the leadership of her daughter in law, Zenaida Go Chua Uy, NE Bake Shop and Buffet has now opened its doors on December 12, 2009. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
